Special Rainbow Days |
|
There are three dates in the year set aside by all Rainbow girls. The Anniversary, April 6th, is celebrated all over the world in cities and towns where the Order is represented. Each Assembly attends a Sunday church service together Sunday nearest that date. This is compulsory. Only illness or absences from town are eligible excuses. The second date is Founder’s Day, Rev. Sexson’s birthday, on July 8th. This day is observed in various ways, with picnics, beach parties, and gatherings at the Masonic Centers or their regular meeting places. The third date is November 15th, which is observed by an inner organization of Rainbow known as the Grand Cross of Color. This is an honor degree bestowed upon members who have performed distinguished services for the Order. They meet on this date at a banquet for the Bread Service. This ceremony and the Grand Cross of Color ritual were written by Rev. Sexson. |
