logo.gif (20434 bytes) At Temple City, at farewell, the Worthy Advisor was given a Barbie Doll that looked like her and was dressed in her Installation dress.

The newly installed Worthy Advisor was given a tea cup and saucer from the Board with her term's info on it.

At Installation, the outgoing Worthy Advisor was presented with a Rainbow Bible and signed the Assembly Bible.

logo.gif (20434 bytes) At Temple City Assembly, the only girls who were allowed to wear hoops were the Worthy Advisor and all of the Past Worthy Advisors.

At installations, Official Visits and Initiations, the line officers were required to wear white.

All Past Worthy Advisors had to have the Past Worthy Advisor Dress. It was a simple white dress that could be in the fabric of your choice but it was the same pattern for everyone and it had a waist so that the PWAs could wear a ribbon in the incoming Worthy Advisor's colors.

logo.gif (20434 bytes) During an Installation for my Assembly, the Worthy Advisor-elect has the option of choosing a Bible bearer to carry the Bible into the Assembly room, escorted by a Marshal. This girl is sometimes a Rainbow Girl (from another Assembly, generally), but could be a non-Rainbow friend or relative of the WA-elect instead.  After carrying the bible in and setting it down on the Recorder's desk, the bible bearer would be seated on the sidelines, usually close to the desk.

The prayer to the right is the prayer the bible bearer would recite as she was escorted into the room. She would start speaking when she took her first step into the room, and end just as she arrived at the Recorder's desk to set the bible down.

We'll travel together,
my bible and I,
down the trail of Rainbow,
as the days go by.
I need your sweet friendship,
your message of love,
painting the pathways
to beauty above.
May the light of the spirit
your pages unfold,
and daily reveal
your treasures of gold.
Oh white light of promise,
to you I'll be true,
and your teachings of Rainbow
will carry me through.

At installation the out-going WA is given a Bible with her name on it and her scrap book made by the sister of faith. The in-coming WA is presented with her mascot from the out-going WA and pantaloons made by WAA. The in-coming Faith is given a Mascot and a baby bag with a bib and bottle. At the far well meeting the out-going WA signs the assembly bible after a skit organized by the WAA. (contributed by Steffi Johansen PWA El Segundo) logo.gif (20434 bytes) Each term the newly appointed Worthy Advisor picks an Advisory Board member to be the Rainbow Dad for the term. With that responsibility he also becomes the bear babysitter. This job is to take the bear to every single meeting and if he forgets, that Rainbow Dad has to buy ice cream for the whole assembly. (contributed by Katie Harrington Novato Assembly)
logo.gif (20434 bytes) Girls who had finished earning their Service bars, pot of gold & wreath still earned service points, which they could redeem for items from the Lindeburg catalog (100 points=$1), thanks to our Advisory Board. Many girls worked on charm bracelets or other small jewelry items; one active member saved up enough to earn her Grand Officer term book (which was about $22 at the time; do the math!) (contributed by Michelle Taylor-Girouard, Wood-Lo Assembly #20) logo.gif (20434 bytes) At Farewell, the outgoing WORTHY ADVISOR was given a memory quilt, created by Charity, with squares embroidered (or painted) by the members, Board, her family and other good friends. It was presented after a skit done by the members. The WORTHY ADVISOR then gave a small memento (i.e. key-chains, candy, bubble necklaces, pencils, candle) to each girl and Board member. (contributed by Michelle Taylor-Girouard, Wood-Lo Assembly #20)
logo.gif (20434 bytes) At Installations, the outgoing Faith was responsible for making pantaloons for the new Worthy Advisor The Line Officer's mascots would be appliqued, painted or embroidered on the front legs, with the Worthy Advisor’s mascot on her behind. The outgoing Faith also presented the new Faith with the Baby Necklace, composed of many rattles, each with the name and term dates of previous Faiths, which she had to wear for the rest of the Installation and reception. Faith was also given a Ritual cover, embossed with her name, by the Advisory Board. The outgoing Worthy Advisor received her Rainbow Bible, embossed with her name, from the Advisory Board. The outgoing Worthy Advisor also presented the new Worthy Advisor with a stuffed toy of her mascot. Kansas
In Kansas, girls who are eligible to run for the Grand Line are sent a application in March or April and if they are interested in running, they fill out the form and send it to the Supreme Inspector. Their names are then presented at Grand Assembly to run for Grand Charity, Grand Hope and Grand Faith. Girls who are eligible for GWAA are sent a different application and are required to go through an interview process. About a month before Grand Assembly, each girl who desires to run for GWAA meets with the Supreme Inspector and Grand Executive Committee. She is required to say the secret work and Obligation by memory, answer proficiency questions and answer questions about her devotion to Rainbow. If she passes the interview, her name is presented at Grand Assembly to the voting delegates. The girl who is elected as GWAA has a three year commitment to Kansas Rainbow. She will become GWA at the following Grand Assembly and as Jr.PGWA she will be Grand Historian.

logo.gif (20434 bytes) Memory Walk and Pillow
At the Farewell meeting, the Sister of Faith prepares a skit with several groups and each group has a task to give the WA a question to reminder her of the activities of the past term. Sister of Hope is in the last group and presents the outgoing WA with pillow covered with messages from the assembly. (contributed by Amanda James, WA, Santa Cruz #28)

Kansas
At Grand Assembly, if someone knows a funny story about another person who is at Grand Assembly, they write it down and put it in a box and during elections, the GWA reads the stories and everyone has a good laugh. (contributed by Amanda Woodward, GWAA in Kansas, 2000-2001)

At their election meeting, Myrtle girls vote for three girls they believe to be the friendliest. The single girl who gets the most total votes is the winner and her name is added to the Friendship Plaque donated by Past Grand Immortality, Pegi Petersen.

logo.gif (20434 bytes) Some Assemblies give their new Sister of Faith various gifts such as a scrap book for her journey up the line, a baby mascot for her term and some make her eat baby food after the installation. In one Assembly, Sister of Hope passes down Faith's word to the new Sister of Faith.
logo.gif (20434 bytes) Triangle Assembly gives their out-going Worthy Advisor a memory quilt made by the Assembly's girls and adults. logo.gif (20434 bytes) Myrtle Assembly has given the out-going Worthy Advisor a "crying towel" embroidered with her term information.
