Starting a Pledge Group is as simple as 1-2-3.
Wasn't that easy? When you have eight Pledges you are ready to institute your group. There is no time limit on how long you can be a Club. It can continue on for as long as it takes to have enough members to institute a Pledge Group. What are the benefits of sponsoring a Pledge Group? Many assembly members have younger sisters and neighborhood friends to share a Rainbow and Pledge experience with by participating in installations, fund raisers, membership drives and service projects. When these girls reach the age of 11, they are all ready to continue the community service and fun with Rainbow they were shown in Pledge. This is a pretty good return on a small investment of an assembly. There are several tools available to you from the State Pledge Director, to help start a Pledge Group. The Start-Up Kit has the necessary forms and answers to some of your questions. The Pledge Mother "Instruction Book" is available along with a CD of forms which includes such items as meeting agendas, installation and institution scripts, medical forms, permission slips and petitions. The most important articles are the "Memory Books." These are the Pledges' equivalent to Rainbow's book of ceremonies. They include all of the memory work and the floor work that your girls and adults will need. If you already have a Pledge Group or would like to start one and did not pick up information at Grand Assembly, please contact us right away. The State Pledge Team is made up of four members who are willing and able to help you get started. They are Mrs. Debbie Von Bima, State Pledge Director and Assistant State Pledge Directors, Molly Robert in the Northern Area, Brenda Mahan in the Central Area and Doris Farrior in the Southern Area. These Pledge Directors are available to help with any questions you may have or to speak to your Assembly. Area Pledge Directors are needed to meet the goal of having an Area Pledge Director of each region served by an Area Grand Deputy.
