Guidelines and instructions

The Violet Grizzly

Wants someone from your assembly to be the next Miss Service

Miss Elisha Barlet, Grand Service and Mrs. Sara Lee Martin, Supreme Deputy

Want to know if you or someone in your assembly would be the right girl to represent service in California Rainbow. She should be a girl who is the living example of what the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls stand for and goes above and beyond the call of Service.

Guidelines for your assembly to follow

  • At you next meeting (October), discuss the meaning of service and how each of us performs acts of service in our everyday life.

  • At the following meeting, follow the procedure below to select your assembly's Miss Service.

    • The members of the assembly should vote by secret ballot on which member of the assembly is most deserving of this honor.

    • The Recorder and her advisor will then silently count the votes together.

    • The girl with the most votes will be announced during the meeting.

  • Then your Miss Service candidate will need to write an essay about what Rainbow service means to her.

We are not looking for the best writer in California Rainbow, but rather the girl who best represents and understands the meaning of service. The essays are judged fully on content, NOT on grammar, punctuation or writing ability.

The girl should put her name and assembly on the essay and the Mother Advisor is to add her date of birth, number of her service hours this year and the number of service hours since her initiation. The girl then mails the essay to her Area Grand Deputy. Do NOT give it to the Grand Deputy!

Essays must be submitted to your AREA Grand Deputy
by November 15, 2006 to be considered.
