Can you believe it, are 5 year reunion is slowly approaching. I still can't believe that it has been that long since we had our Grand Assembly. I guess we all have to just accept the fact that we are getting old. j/k
Well, as most of you are aware, we will be taking a cruise which will be departing Long Beach at 9:00am on March 24th. We will then sail to beautiful Ensenada to relax and enjoy our time all day Saturday. Sunday we will have a full day on the boat and Monday the 27th we will be heading back home. There is still room available if anyone would like to go. We will need to know by 12/20/05 at the latest. The cost is $471.00 per person based on double occupancy. Please e-mail me at SheRa428@aol.com if you would like more information. It should be a lot of fun.
Also, we are still planning on having a dinner one of the nights at Grand Assembly. More information will be announced at a later date.
I know we have all been interested in a sweatshirt and yes, we will have some for our reunion. An e-mail will go out to each of you in the near future with request for sizes and to let you know how much they will cost.
That's all the news for now. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me a note.
Talk to you all very soon,

Please share with her many friends that Hazel Wade passed away on December 2nd. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21st at 12:30 12 NOON (change in time) at the Pleasanton Masonic Center at 3370 Hopyard Road, Pleasanton, California. She was an integral part of California Rainbow for generations. She proudly held the title of Grand Deputy Emeritus which means she served as a Grand Deputy for well over 20 years. She served as Mother Advisor for Grand Assembly in 1988 and she was well known for her many Supreme Tours where she served as our nurse. Her exceptional common sense was a great asset to all of us. She will be greatly missed by generations of Rainbow Girls.
It has been suggested that in lieu of flowers, that donations in her memory be made to the California Rainbow For Girls Foundation, Inc. and designated to the fund of your choice or to where the need is greatest.
Sara Lee Martin, Supreme Deputy

Tracy Brown Grand Kansas Nebraska 97 had a house fire early morning of Wednesday the 16th of August. they just found out today that the home is a total loss, so the owner will probably not be fixing it.
Everyone who was in the house got out safely. I found out most of the personal items did survive but are badly damaged by smoke. If you could keep her and her daughter, and my other sister and her daughter in your prayers. They are all trying to figure out what they are going to do next. The rest of the family is now in VA, we are trying to help anyway we can from here.

Attention All Majority Members of Vallejo Assembly #3, or others now living in the area. Your Assembly needs YOUR HELP! I am Jessica Wattles-Guidotti, Past Grand Rep. of Austrilia and the Orient Pacific 1999 and the NEW MOTHER ADVISOR of Vallejo. We currently have three active girls in our assembly. These girls are very excited to be there and WE need to help them grow OUR assembly. You may be wondering "What can I do to Help? I don't know any girls that could join." Well, you could start by getting involved again. Six years ago when I took my Majority at Grand Assembly I never thought I would be back as Mother Advisor, but I am, because my assembly needs me and they asked. Now I am asking you to please join me in helping these girls grow OUR Assembly. They wont be able to experience Rainbow the way we did with only three girls. Think back to what Rainbow meant you. I bet is was special or you wouldn't be on this web site reading the messages. Let's work together to make it just as special for these girls and all the girls in the future of Vallejo Assembly #3. We meet at the Springbrook Masonic Center, 101 Temple Way, Vallejo, CA 94591 on the 2nd and 4th Wed. of each and every month. I can't wait to see and meet all of you. If you would like information about our up coming events please email me

I am collecting birthday wishes and letters to present to her at her birthday celebration and would like to invite anyone who would like to participate to send me your wish to her to be included in a scrapbook. As many of you know, Robert Sorensen, father of Janet Gustafson, State Mother Advisor and Grandfather of Kendra Gustafson Murdock, Grand Worthy Advisor in 1995 passed away yesterday while he was doing his morning exercise on the treadmill. Bob was an amazing man who has served on the San Pablo Advisory Board for decades. He and Lucille have been active in all phases of the Masonic Family. Lucille was Grand Electa for Eastern Star in 1987 when Barbara Campbell was Worthy Grand Matron. This is a tremendous loss to this special family and to all of the California Masonic Family.

It is with a heavy heart that I send this message to you. Our Dear Margaret passed away at about 4:30 A.M. today. I was away for the greater part of the day on Rainbow errands and didn't receive this information until this afternoon.
As soon as I have any further information about a Memorial Service I will forward to you. I just spoke to George Yoder and as of this hour he had not heard from the family regarding arrangements. The next of kin are relatives of Melba and Jack.
Her Will had requested a Memorial Service the Saturday following her demise. How ironic that she passed between Washington Idaho Grand Assembly and Supreme Assembly sessions. I am so happy she was able to attend our sessions in 2003! She had a great time and loved every minute of being with the girls! We will be planning a Rainbow Memorial for her at Grand Assembly in 2005.
Please remember her! in your prayers and the legacy she left Washington Idaho and Alaska.

Hi every one, I'm Liz Petros, the new 2005 Grand Representative to Connecticut and Rhode Island. I would like to know if any past or present Rainbow Girls go to Glendale Community College. Because I am going there and I don't know any one and I would like someone to hang out with. Please email me at (contact webmaster and reference Elizabeth 4/21/2004).
I'm Diane Sylvester-Appleman, Past Grand Charity and Rep. of Queensland Australia, with the Dazzling Dragons of 1986. I'm saddened to announce the passing of my mother, Patricia Sylvester, on December 31, 2003. Services were held at The Masonic Home at Covina on January 10th, 2004. She was a Past Matron of Carnation Chapter in Redondo Beach (1979 & 1983), a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color, and served many years on the advisory board of Redondo Assembly. It is almost impossible for any Grand Officer to make it through her special year without the help and support of a loving and devoted mother. Any quilt square that you Dazzling Ones received with my name on it was a labor of Mom's love. I'll miss her more than I can say. So girls, especially you Past Grands, if at all possible, give your mom a hug or a phone call today, and tell her how much you love her for all she's done for you.

FAREWELL TO A FRIEND -
Mr. Don Stephens, who recently passed on, was the beloved father of Cheryl Stephens, our "Purr-fect" Grand California Flag Bearer for the Cats of 1981-82.  We lost our lovely Cheryl much too soon, and her loving and generous parents have continued to support California Rainbow and the unique gifts it brings to each girl involved.  Our years in Rainbow are treasures we continue to appreciate years after our active service.  Mr. Stephens was devoted to our Order, its teachings, and the young women whose lives have been changed by its lessons.  I wish him God's speed and grace as he joins Cheryl.  He will be missed by our Order and this world.  You were a gem, Mr. Stephens.  Deanna (Schlaegel) Cleary, GWA 1981-82
It is with great sadness that I report that Don Stephens, Chairman of the Grand Executive Committee passed away Thursday July 17th, 2003.  Don was also a Trustee on the California Rainbow for Girls Foundation. He left us peacefully while at home enjoying a quiet morning. Doris will be letting us know when a Memorial Service will be held toward the end of August.  We will post it on the web site.  All assemblies in California should do Memorial Services at their next meeting. Sara Lee Martin, Supreme Deputy

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to reach the former Candy Conway, Past Gr. Rep to Okinawa, Philippines and Guam from 1969. We were members together in the Huntington Beach Assembly and I know her parents moved to the San Diego area years ago. If anyone knows of her whereabouts, please contact me at kperkins@miracosta.edu
My name is Linda Eatmon Kral (AKA: Glahn and Torres), and I was in San Lorenzo Assembly from 1960 to 1966. I was Worthy Advisor in 1965. My mom, the late Carolyn Eatmon was Mother Advisor in the late 60's. I was Mother Advisor in Fremont in the early 70's, and on the Board of Blossom Valley in San Jose in the late 70's. I attended 14 grand assemblies between 1963 and 1977. Although I am not active in Rainbow or Eastern Star at this time, my memories are so sweet and I love to check the web site periodically and see what is happening.  San Lorenzo Assemly closed and the building burned I am sad to say...but the lessons of Rainbow and the memories of my years in Rainbow and Star will always be held tight and can never be taken away. I wish there were more old photos of past grand assemblies and the dresses...I can remember them like it was yesterday. Next time GA is in Sacramento, I am going to pop in for a bit of nostalgia!!! Cherish it all. Rainbow is THE BEST! Any old timers I may have known, can reach me at lindaekral@attbi.com

Hey Girls! I am pleased to announce that you have a new member! My daughter, Alex was initiated into Lake Assembly! This has been a long awaited event and we are so proud! As Mother Advisor, I am especially proud of ALL the girls of Lake Assembly (including my daughter) for all the hard work it takes to re-open an Assembly and get the word out there that we are back! Lake Assembly is doing an excellent job and I am looking forward to continuing our growth and broadening our friendships! I would also like to say that without the help of our sister Assemblies, especially Santa Rosa, Napa, and Vacaville, our growth would not be possible. It is the true meaning of Sisterhood that keeps us going! Keep up the good work California Rainbow! It never goes unappreciated!

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother and grandmother, Betty Ann Clutter, 81 years old, a majority member of California Rainbow. She passed on May 10, 2005. Betty spent many years as a proud mother to Deanna Lynn Truett and Karen Lee Clutter, P.W.A.s of Temple City Assembly. She played the piano, rewrote lyrics to songs and wrote poems for skits, sewed formals, chaperoned and basically supported Rainbow in any way she could. She was awarded the Grand Cross of Color for her years of service. She was the grandmother of Megan LeAnn Fitzgerald, P.W.A., Citrus Assembly. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Clutter, a past Board Member of Temple City Assembly. Our mom and grammy will be greatly missed until we meet her again when all our Rainbow Dreams come true.

Hey Graceful Giraffes of 1997, Do any of you remember, "Give Hope to Shriners Children"? Well my little girl Ashley is going to Sacramento to the Hospital to get her feet looked at in July! I just wanted to let you all know that our project, has an even more special place in my heart! I would love to hear from any or all of you. I am really trying to reach Susan (Novack) Young because I know she lives there and I would love to see her. After the Shriners we are going across the street to UCD because she spent the first 6 weeks of her life there. I am also trying to reach all Canada, or New Hampshire and or Vermonts. I would like to keep in contact with our Grandie line. Maybe we could get together at GA in 2006. Cassie Tores I would love to hear from you. I am your first Can/NH/VT. Anyway, I hope to hear from anyone that would like to keep in contact.

The Family of Esther Caudillo (Seemann), Past Grand Outer Observer 1999, would like to announce the passing of Charles Vincent Seemann on Mother's Day, Sunday May 8th, 2005. He is survived by Esther, their son Jeffery Charles Jose Seemann (age 3) and countless family and friends.
The following is a message to be passed on to the members of California Rainbow and all the members of the organization that Esther loves so much:
As a young person I never thought something like this would happen. Charlie was only 37 years old and passed away (we hope) in his sleep of a massive heart attack. There was no indication of any illness or heart problem so the shock of it is intense. But this has caused me to realize how very special and important you all are to me. To those I have not been able to speak to in so very long and to those I got to see at this past Grand Assembly, I would so very much like to get in contact with each and every one of you. Please feel free to get in contact with me. I miss you all very much.
In Rainbow Love and Service,
Esther Caudillo P.O. Box 4165 Joliet, Illinois 60434

Our Assembly is looking for a ‘digitized’ copy of the Rainbow emblem, can anyone help? Quite costly do have it done at our local shop.
We want to make nice shirts for the girls to wear. We have a lady who says we can use her machine, but all emblems have to be digitized in order for her machine to sew the emblem on the shirt.
Do you know where we can get one?

Grandma was also active in the Escallonia Eastern Star (being a PM (many times) and a DGM in '86), the Shrine widow's, and many other organizations.
The viewing will be on Sunday from 1-5 at the funeral chapel in Escalon and the funeral will be on Monday (7-12) at the Escalon Methodist Church.

to us.
