Dear California Rainbow Family, I am very
sad to tell you that Anna Lind passed away this evening. She
died peacefully and without suffering. Their son Steve, daughter
Millie and Bill were all there with her. Mrs. Lind learned very
recently that the lung disease she has been suffering from was indeed
Pulmonary Fibrosis. This disease involves scarring of the lung.
Gradually the air sacs of the lungs become replaced by fibrotic
tissue. Her doctor had prescribed oxygen for several hours per day.
She was managing well and planned to attend the Last OV. However, when
she contracted pneumonia, even with treatment and breathing machines
her condition was not reversible.
Memorial Services are pending. Mr. Lind plans to return to California
next week. I will notify everyone when plans are finalized.

Hello to all Rainbow Sisters, Past and
Present. My name is Tamera Ziegler and I am a Past Worthy
Advisor from Flo McDonald Assembly #252 in Downey, California. 'Tis
the season to be Happy and Thankful for everything you have. This is
just a quick reminder to everyone: Service to your community, family,
friends and even strangers is what we are all about. Rainbow was my
life and then I was involved in 2 major accidents and I lost the
connection to the assembly. I am still supportive and active with some
of the Masonic groups and have not heard anything from the Rainbow
Girls in this area. Are there any events or fundraisers? If anyone
knows please let me know.
tzieglerboosmom@yahoo.com. My primary health is good, there are
some problems that came with the accidents but like I said “Tis the
Season”. I am also proud to announce that my son is going to be 4
years old and is happy and healthy as a clam. He did not inherit any
of the medical problems (seizures) that came with the accidents. Hope
everything is well and wish everyone a happy and save holiday season. |

Britney Ward, Grand
Representative to Iowa/Minnesota/Missouri is in the hospital in Sacramento. She
began having breathing problems on Sunday night. She is being treated
for Congestive Heart Failure. She also had fluid in her lungs and has
a kidney disorder. She was still planning to get out and have her
reception on Sunday but the doctors plan to keep her there for 2 or 3
days more so those plans were changed in spite of her enthusiasm.
Cards to her home or the hospital would be welcomed. Sutter Memorial
Hospital, Room 466, 5151 F Street, Sacramento, CA 95819. The reception
will be rescheduled and that date will go out soon. I know she would
appreciate prayers and cards from her Rainbow sisters.

Assembly to those Whimsically Wacky Walruses.
It's on Thursday, September 21st at 7pm (sorry for the
late notice) Santa Cruz Masonic Center, 828 N. Branciforte Ave.
I'm a Majority Member and am putting together a card
with messages from other Majority Members (or people who can't make

as a Deputy or Mother Advisor, or any other way, please send me short
note for her.

Hello
Everybody!
I have gotten a couple emails from people asking how the
Garage Sale and Baja Fresh sale went, and I wanted to respond to those
as well as let everyone else know how we did too.
We had a great time, on Friday night we all got together to
set up and price the items donated for the sale. Thanks, Mr. Parks,
for the pizza and sodas as that was a wonderful treat to fuel our hard
work. We received so many wonderful donations it took 2 1/2 hours to
get everything organized and priced but we sure had fun doing it. The
Teletubby costumes were sure the hit of the night and guess what,
somebody bought them the next day!
On Saturday morning we got there bright and early at 6:30 am
to start taking things out and putting up the signs. We sold and we
sold until 12:00 pm sharp and the heat started to get to us. We had a
lot left over and collectively we decided to pack it up wisely and do
another sale before the end of the summer season. All of us worked
like crazy and packed boxes and broke down tables and stacked it all
nice and neat in one of the closets, in less than an hour. We sure
were sweatin' though. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Flick who
stuck with us the whole day and Mr. Parks who after helping us get set
up, came back and to both for staying until after we were gone.
Also, we were able to retire the old, withered, sad looking
flag from the Temple's flag pole and erect the new, bright, clean flag
that was donated by Mr. Hooper. Thank you!
All in all we ended up making nearly $200.00, the exact
number will be revealed at the meeting on the 18th. A good amount in
my opinion.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU- for all who helped, I have
attached the picture I took of the crew. Minus Nicki because she
wasn't there yet.
For those of you who ate at Baja Fresh and brought the flyer
on Saturday, thank you. I will not know how much money we made for a
few weeks. My family and I ate dinner there on Saturday night and I
know the Woods got dinner to go. We gave flyers to everyone who came
to the Garage Sale and many were receptive. No matter how much we made
it was worth it.
Please mark your calendars to come to our next meeting on
September 18th. There will be a wonderful dinner before at 5:30pm, and
the meeting will start at 7pm. We will be honoring our new masons and
it would be nice to have the sidelines full.
Thank you all for your love and support.
In all the love I can give, Lindsay Moore, Mother Advisor,

Keli Rutherdale. I am a past worthy advisor from San Carlos #136.
Sorry to see it closed soon after I moved. I'm not sure if there are
any contacts from the mid to late '70s from that chapter who could be
contacted. My aunt, Joan Rutherdale Wolf, was also a past worthy
advisor and passed away last year. This Saturday, June 24th, we are
having a memorial for her in Citrus Heights and wanted to invite
folks. Some may have become Eastern Star or Masonic members. I
remember Lois Cook was her main contact all those years ago. Lori Guzo
is another name I remember, the Richmonds...My grandfather was Donald
Rutherdale, grandmother Melba Rutherdale, they were very involved.

Dear
Terrific Teddies,
It is with sadness that I pass on to you a message from Sara Lee
Martin, Supreme Deputy:
Many of you remember Sharon Mosier, Grand Deputy from the San Diego
area who died of cancer. You probably also remember her daughter
Melissa who was Grand Representative to [Illinois] the Teddy Bear
year. Sadly, Melissa and her daughter Kendra were killed in a car
accident Saturday outside of El Centro. It seems they had just bought
a new puppy and when the puppy made a mess in the car, the driver lost
control during the confusion. Her son Ryan survived and is with his
father who was divorced from Melissa. Melissa's best friend Leanea
from Texas a Majority Member has indicated they are much in need of
money for the funerals. If you wish to donate toward this cause,
please send your checks made payable to Grand Assembly to the Grand
Assembly office. Since the cause is not a 501(c), (3), the money goes
through Grand Assembly and not through the Foundation. Vi McCleary and
Chula Vista Assembly Rainbow adults are investigating the situation
and will let us know more about the finances. Rainbow
Love, Sara Lee
